What a website costs in India in 2026, and how to compare quotes

Published guides put a small business site between ₹10,000 and ₹80,000. This guide shows the ranges by type of site, where our prices sit, and what to ask before you pay.

The short answer

Published guides in India put a basic small business website between ₹10,000 and ₹80,000, with agency quotes starting nearer ₹50,000 and online stores and web apps well above that. Our own prices, ₹12,999, ₹23,999 and ₹64,000, sit inside those ranges. They are not the cheapest and not the dearest.

The ranges are wide because "a website" can mean a one-page card or a booking system. Compare quotes by what each one includes, not by the number alone.

What do published guides say a website costs in India?

On 21 October 2026 we searched Google for website cost guides and price pages from Indian hosting companies and agencies, and wrote down the ranges they state. The table lists each range once, with the kind of source it came from. We do not name the providers, so you cannot check each figure from this page. Read it as a rough map, not a benchmark.

Website price ranges stated in published Indian cost guides, checked on 21 October 2026
Kind of siteRange statedKind of source
Basic site, 1 to 5 pages₹5,000 to ₹50,000Hosting company guide
Landing page or portfolio₹10,000 to ₹25,000Hyderabad agency guides
Small business site, 5 to 15 pages₹10,000 to ₹80,000Hosting company guide
Business website, 10 to 15 pages₹25,000 to ₹1,00,000Hyderabad agency guides
WordPress build₹17,500 to ₹60,000Hyderabad agency guide
Fixed agency quote, any scope₹50,000 to ₹5,00,000 or moreAgency cost guide
Online store₹25,000 to ₹5,00,000 or moreAgency and Hyderabad guides
Web app or booking systemFrom about ₹3,00,000Hyderabad agency guide
Monthly maintenance₹2,000 to ₹10,000 a monthHyderabad agency guides

Two cautions. These are sellers' own estimates, written partly to attract customers. And the guides do not agree: one hosting guide starts a basic site at ₹5,000, while agency guides rarely quote under ₹50,000. The low figures usually mean a template or a freelancer. The high ones usually mean custom design and a team.

Where do our prices sit?

Our prices are on our pricing page and do not change by city or by who asks. Next to the ranges above:

Why do prices differ so much?

  • Pages. Every extra page needs writing, design and checking.
  • Template or custom. A template is cheaper to start and harder to make distinctive. Custom design costs more and takes longer.
  • What it has to do. A card with a WhatsApp button and a store with payments are different jobs.
  • Who builds it. A freelancer, an agency and a hosting company's builder price differently, and carry different risk if something breaks.
  • What comes after. Hosting, updates, security and edits are often extra. Ask whether they are in the number.

How should you compare two quotes?

  1. Ask how many pages each quote covers, by name.
  2. Ask who owns the site and the domain when it is finished. See who owns your website.
  3. Ask what happens when the site is hacked, and what a clean-up costs. See what to do when a WordPress site is hacked.
  4. Ask for the first year's full cost: build, hosting, domain, care.
  5. Ask what the speed target is and how it is measured. See why sites feel slow for Indian visitors.
  6. Be careful with any quote that promises a Google ranking. Nobody can.

How we gathered these figures

We searched Google on 21 October 2026 for Indian website cost guides and agency price pages, including pages aimed at Hyderabad, and noted each range as the page states it. One guide carried a 2024 date even though its title said 2026. We did not request quotes, and we did not include freelancer hourly rates. We will redo the search and change the table when prices move. For city prices, see clinic website cost in Hyderabad and a website for a small business in Warangal.

Common questions

How much does a website cost in India?

Published guides put a small business website between ₹10,000 and ₹80,000, agency quotes from about ₹50,000, and online stores and web apps from ₹25,000 to well over ₹5,00,000. The Geeks Room publishes ₹12,999 for one page, ₹23,999 for up to five pages and ₹64,000 for the premium site.

Is a cheaper website worse?

Not always, but a low price usually means a template, fewer pages or a freelancer working alone. Ask what is included and who looks after the site once it is live.

Why do you not name the providers?

We would rather not single out other businesses, so the table groups ranges by kind of source. The cost of that choice is that you cannot check each figure yourself, which is why we call the table a rough map.

Do your prices change by city?

No. ₹12,999, ₹23,999 and ₹64,000 are the same in Hyderabad, Warangal or anywhere else in India.

Does the price include hosting and maintenance?

Our build prices cover the website itself. Care plans for updates, backups and security start at ₹2,449 a month and are separate. The pricing page lists what each package includes.
